Review: SP Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner

Due to regular dyeing, my hair needs extra care and hydration so I'm rather picky when it comes to haircare. I purchased the Wella System Professional Hydrate shampoo & conditioner because it claims to detangle and rehydrate the hair, which is exactly what I need. I can hardly brush though my hair when it's wet, I need to dry it first so I hoped these two products duo would do the trick.
The texture of the shampoo is gel like and it's scent is heavy and reminds me of being in a hair salon, which I find quite pleasant. The conditioner is thicker and doesn't smell as overpowering. They hold an average amount of product, the shampoo contains 250 ml, the conditioner 200ml.

I have to say that I'm fairly disappointed with the products. I need to wash my hair twice to remove any residues from styling products and my hair still doesn't feel clean. Furthermore, it's more tangled than with the shampoo I've used before, which makes brushing my hair displeasing. The conditioner is nice but nothing special. It's not particularly hydrating but it doesn't worsen the condition of my hair either and it leaves it quite shiny.

The products cost CHF 24, respectively CHF 33 for the conditioner. For this price I would have expected more and I could have purchased my favourite hair products from Sebastian as well… so that's what I'll do next.

What do you think of the SP hydrate shampoo & conditioner? What do you use to hydrate your hair?

Love,
Cheryl

  1. I tried that shampoo when I was in Belgium two weeks ago. My future mother-in-law had it sitting on the bathroom shelf so I gave it go. I actually quite liked it, to be honest.

    1. You can have mine then ;-) It just doesn't work for my hair but I think it's pretty normal that some products aren't the best for everyone.
